Z-Beanz at National Free Software Conference (India) - 2008

                         November 08, 2008 - A National Conference on 'FREE SOFTWARE' is being held on 15 & 16of November, 2008 at the campus ofCochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi.The Conference will be a milestone in the history of  Free Software movement in India.


The Conference will be inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala, Sri V.S. Achuthanandan and will be blessed by leaders of the Legislative Assembly, State and Central Ministers. The Conference will hear nearly 150 experts from the social, technical, industrial and educational domain.

Lepeesh Parat, from Z-Beanz has been officially invited as a speaker in the "Open Source Business model" segment. Z-Beanz would consider this opportunity to address the younger generation in show casing the success stories they achieved by effectively exploiting the "Open Source advantage" in Business. Industry Linkage at GEC, Sreekrishnapuram

October 28, 2008 - Government Engineering College, Sreekrishnapuram - Palakkad has conducted its first industry linkage Program on 28th of October 2008. The program is conducted as per the instructions  from The Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala. In the first phase GEC sought the co-operation of "Z-Beanz Technologies". The consultants from Z-Beanz  visited the campus.


The session was arranged for the third semester students of the college, in which the speakers shared their experiences in the industry. The main focus of the session was "Business Potential of Open source", The session also introduced some useful open source products which are cost effective and potentially useful when the students plan to be entrepreneurs.The program was inaugurated by the Principal of the college, Dr. P.C ReghuRaj. Teachers from various Departments also took part in the interactive session.

The Program  could also motivate the students to think differently to have courageous career in the IT industry, effectively utilising the Open Source advantage for start ups.  It was also an opportunity to expose the proven business strategy of Z-Beanz which is a company anchored by the old students of GEC.

At B-School with OpenERP

October 20, 2008 - The School of Communications and Management Studies (SCMS) - Business School, One of the best B-Schools in India has set up an OpenERP Lab in association with Z-Beanz Technologies.
The consultants from Z-Beanz had been at  the campus for couple of days. Initially an OpenERP Lab with more than 40 machines was set up in Fedora Core 9. An hands on session with OpenERP was also conducted for the Management students and the faculty.  Apart from installation of Linux , the Students also had a live experience into Package installation of OpenERP, Setting up Database, Running Server and Client etc. They were also made to work on a custom developed ERP application by Z-Beanz , and experience the functionalities of a typical ERP with its Data flow.

With MCA Students at SSTM

October 12, 2008 - The executives from Z-Beanz were invited to an interactive Program, for the Master of Computer Application (MCA) students at SCMS School of Technology and Management, Cochin.

The session focused more on the Open Source Potential in the Educational Sector. It gave Students an overview into various enterprise level Open Source Applications.

The major objective of the Program was to make the students aware of the "Contribution to Open Source", which can be achieved by effectively executing Student Projects using live and latest Open Source applications. This was also one of the consultancy Program of Z-Beanz for the Technical Students. The executives and consultants of the company delivered their live experience in the Open Source model and business in general. Potential applications like OpenERP, Sugar CRM, Koha, Zimbra, Center, Joomla, etc were demonstrated for the students.

Z-Beanz at NIT Calicut

October 01, 2008 - The National Institute of Technology Calicut, one of the pioneering Technical Organisation in India has a Technology Business Incubation Program with the support of  National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, to incubate start up industries in the IT and electronics.


Z-Beanz has got the approval to set up its Development and R&D center through this Program at the NIT - Campus. This has enabled the company to have the state-of-the-art infrastructure with full-fledged support from the high profile consultancy services from the NIT. This also has fulfilled the effort of the company to stay close with the students and campuses in taking forward the right technology for the future.

Web Site for GEC-Sreekrishnapuram

September 10, 2008 - Z-Beanz Technologies, along with Network Gulf has sponsored a fully featured content managed website for Government Engineering College, Sreekrishnapuram. The Design, Development and Maintenance is, handled by Z-Beanz and hosted in the Network Gulf Server.
Through this project, many Students, Teachers and Alumni of  the College got an opportunity to contribute for a Social cause in a situation when the college was finding difficulty to maintain a website of their own. The whole application was build on Joomla, the most powerful content managed web development tool in the Open Source. This exhibits the potential of Open Source and its value addition with live case study.
